Sunday Services

Given the worsening coronavirus situation and the small size of our church, we have decided that it is best not to meet for worship for at least a couple of weeks.  There will therefore be no 10.30am service in Leavening until further notice.  Anglican services are continuing using the bigger churches in the parish and there is a service of Holy Communion at 10.30am on Sunday 3rd January in Westow, and at Settrington on the other Sundays in January.

See events page for more information.

The church remains open daily for private prayer or reflection.

We are 200 years old!

The first Methodist chapel in Leavening was opened in 1820.  Click here to watch our anniversary service.

Food Bank

Donations for the Food Bank may be left in the church kitchen when it is open, or may be put in the box in the family room of the Jolly Farmers.  The lower door to the pub is open most days, so you can go in there to get to the box.

Coronavirus is a world-wide problem, and its effects on the poor, including those in refugee camps, could be devastating.  To help please see Christian Aid's coronavirus appeal.

Leavening Methodist Church is a small group of Christians from the village of Leavening and the surrounding villages.  In ordinary times we meet for worship most Sundays, but at present we communicate using phone, email and printed information.  We work closely with our friends from the Anglican Church and share their church building.  We are part of  Ryedale Methodist Circuit.
